Our Employees

In the spring of 1993, a chance meeting led to a hiring philosophy at PARTNERS, A Tasteful Choice Company, that remains in place some two decades later. Company founder Marian Harris was riding a ferry through the waters of Puget Sound, commuting to her home, when she ran into a former restaurant employee of hers. The former employee's girlfriend worked at the Refugee Federation Service Center, a Seattle-area organization that helps immigrants transition to life in the United States. The Refugee Federation had people looking for work, and Marian needed employees.

That spring, with the help of the Refugee Federation, Marian and her son Greg hired PARTNERS' first four employees. With those hires, they also made a commitment to helping new immigrants gain a foothold in America – a commitment that remains as strong as ever today. It's also a commitment that goes far beyond simply providing jobs. PARTNERS offers its employees education and training, and each has a personal "Path to Success" that can lead to additional skills and advancement.

Dozens of countries have been represented at the PARTNERS facilities over the years, and the company's headquarters continues to be a vibrant, culturally diverse workplace (company potlucks are quite the smorgasbord of cultural cuisines!). Many of PARTNERS' 85 employees have been with the company for years, including some that were among those originally hired back in 1993. Every employee is truly a part of the PARTNERS family.
